Turfgrass Mastery

04 · Water, led by data.

Irrigation Manager

The complete water layer of the course — sensor-learned soil water storage, refill needs in millimetres, minutes and litres, uniformity auditing, ET budgeting and hand-watering maps. Built to grow into agent-led irrigation control.

SubscriptionAn add-on module to Foundation at €990 / year — or the whole platform with Mastery at €5,990 / year.

Tools in this discipline

Greens Specialist

Every green on the Golfkit map, with what the club measures about it placed on the green itself: POGO surveys (cards and every GPS point), Soil Scout sensors you can drag to where they really sit, and the green's colour-coded surface, contours and slopes. Persistent dry and wet areas with the evidence for each, today's hand-watering spots, the learned rootzone per sensor with an adjustable operational floor, and per sprinkler station a runtime suggestion from what its area shows. The platform never opens a valve.

Course Irrigation Optimizer

Tonight's irrigation % for every station on fairways, tees, surrounds, approaches and rough. Second Sun's ET map and TurfRad's moisture survey are placed on the course's own station map — drop the files a course can download from its vendors and the tool recognises them, places them and asks only what it cannot know. A night plan with a reason for every station, approval, a technician list and Excel/PDF command sheets. The platform never writes to the controller — every command is a proposal a named human enters.

Irrigation Water

Irrigation water quality from the club's own lab reports: inflow, irrigation pond and outflow side by side, the pond against FAO guide values (pH, EC, chloride, iron, manganese, boron), nutrient loads per season and per hectare of greens, the pH effect of alkalinity and the pond trend over the years.

Irrigation Calibration

Calibrate what the irrigation system actually delivers: output by area, head and nozzle in litres, cubic metres and millimetres. 36 sprinkler models, FAO-56 ET₀ from Open-Meteo, DU, pressure correction and pump-station checks. Reads your Course Profile.

What the term meansA water budget compares water in (rain + irrigation) with water out (ET) and shows whether a deficit or surplus is building. It reveals irrigation need before the turf shows it — and documents water use for permits.

ET Calculator

Monthly evapotranspiration and irrigation need from historical data plus a deficit strategy. FAO-56 Penman–Monteith ET₀ and rainfall from the Open-Meteo archive (3–5-year monthly means), Kc and deficit-percentage strategy, effective rainfall, season totals in mm and m³, a 10-day forecast (Open-Meteo or MET Norway) and a printable A4 plan for water permits and budgets.

What the term meansET (evapotranspiration) is the water the turf and soil surface lose to the air in a day (mm/day). Irrigation is sized to replace what evaporated — the FAO-56 ET₀ calculation does that from weather data instead of habit.

DU Calculator · Distribution Uniformity

Guided catch-can testing step by step: DUlq, DUlh, Christiansen’s coefficient of uniformity (CU), heat map, run-time adjustment factor and automated interpretation of edge and central areas and individual faults. IA/USGA audit methodology.

What the term meansDU (Distribution Uniformity) measures how evenly the irrigation system applies water: a catch-can test compares the driest quarter with the average. Low DU means overwatering most of an area so the driest spot gets enough — uniformity saves water and nerves.

Moisture Mapping

Coming

VWC survey grids, dry-spot analysis and irrigation auditing across your surfaces.

What the term meansVWC (Volumetric Water Content) is the rootzone's water content by volume in percent — the number a moisture meter (e.g. TDR) reads. Moisture mapping turns a green into a map of dry and wet zones for targeted watering.
